I give thanks for my team...
Three centuries ago, our forefathers set out on a journey to discover a place where a man could swim in something besides the English Channel. After months at sea, dying of scurvy and underchlorination, the first pioneers of America established our nation in Plymouth, Massachussetts, eating a feast with the Native Americans, and the next morning, waking up before 7 to work off the calories swimming. And so from that day forth, every year, we show up for practice on Wednesday, eat twice our body weight on Thursday, and go to practice the next morning. If our ancestors died crossing the Atlantic Ocean to bring us freedom to excel in athletics, we would be remiss not to acknowledge their selflessness and sacrifice. So if thou art a patriot, an athlete, and a member of the glorious Highland Park state-championship swim team, come to practice on Wednesday and Friday, ready to swim at 7 am.
